What are Wines?
Wine are alcoholic drinks made from fermented grapes or other fruits. The natural biochemical balance of grapes lets them ferment without adding of sugars, acids, enzymes, water, or other nutrients.Yeast eats the sugars in the grapes and transforms them into liquor. Diverse selections of grapes and yeasts yield different types of wine. The well-known variants result from the very complex interactions between the biological and chemical development of the grape fruit, reactions involved in fermentation, and human involvement in the overall wine making process.
Port Vines of Goa
Wines made from fruits are usually named after the fruit from which they are manufactured (for example, apple wine and grape wine) and are generally called fruit wine.Port wine (also known as Vinho do Porto, Porto, and often simply port) is a Portuguese fortified wine, originally produced exclusively in the Douro Valley in the northern provinces of Portugal, but now also produced in the colonies of Portugal.
Port wine is characteristically a sweet, red wine, often presented as a dessert wine though it also comes in dry, semi-dry, and white variations. Fortified wines in the style of port are also produced outside Portugal, most particularly in Australia, South Africa, Canada, India in Goa, Argentina, and the United States.
